Inspired by the video game series, Second Self Beer Co. is releasing its new Triforce “slightly hazy” IPA on Saturday with a really geeky party at the brewery’s taproom in West Midtown
The fun and video games include a costume contest and Triforce tacos from Real Mexican Vittles. There’s also a Hyrule-inspired quest around Atlanta for fans of Second Self. Participants can search the city for missing items at participating bars, restaurants and stores to win free merchandise. The map and compass required to make the trek can be picked up at the brewery during the parrty.
In honor of all those shenanigans, Triforce is this week’s Beer Pick.
Second Self Beer Co., Atlanta
Available on draft and in cans
Triforce is brewed with a malt trio of oats, wheat and barley, and a hop trio of Mosaic, Amarillo and Cascade.
The result is a bright, bubbly pale IPA with a fairly low alcohol content at 6-percent, making it both easy to drink and easy to pair with food. A dank note in the nose gives way to tropical fruit flavors and aromas before a dry touch of bitterness that lingers in the finish.
Second Self suggests pairing Triforce with tacos, barbecue, fresh vegetables, ceviche, fromage blanc and “magical potions.”
