Eleven Georgia food producers were named finalists for the 2018 Good Food Awards.
The awards honor the best responsibly-made food in 15 different categories including honey, chocolate, coffee and spirits.
Sourcomb Honeycomb Honey from Clarkesville-based MtnHoney was selected in the honey category; this is the company’s third time as a finalist. Sweet Grass Honey, located in Thomasville, and Swarm Chasers Apiaries, located in Austell, were also chosen as honey finalists.
The list includes two Atlanta-based companies. Peru 7% chocolate from Xocolatl Small Batch Chocolate was named a chocolate finalist and A&A Alta Cucina Italia’s Vidalia Chutney was honored in the pantry category.
The Good Food Awards celebrate tasty, authentic and responsible food. The finalists were selected from a blinddtasting of over 2,000 products; all underwent extensive vetting to ensure they met the Good Food Awards’ rigorous standards in supply chain transparency, environmentally sound agricultural practices, humane animal husbandry and community engagement. The winners will be announced on Friday, January 19, 2018 at a gala in San Francisco.
