Longtime Atlantans and fans of the CNBC show “The Profit” will likely be familiar with two new businesses set to open next year at The Battery at SunTrust Park.

Farrell’s Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor will open above Sweet Pete’s Candy Shop in February, according to Scoop OTP.

Farrell’s first location opened in Portland, Ore. in 1963 with more than 100 more locations open across the country by the mid-197os, including Northlake Mall in Tucker and Cumberland Mall in Smyrna. Most locations closed in the 1990s, but entrepreneurs tried to revive the brand in 2009 and appeared on the CNBC reality show “The Profit,” where host Marcus Lemonis invested in the business and eventually became the majority shareholder.

Lemonis also became a 50 percent shareholder in Florida-based Sweet Pete’s after it appeared on “The Profit.”

Farrell’s menu will feature a variety of ice creams, malts, shakes and floats, as well as burgers and sandwiches. The spot also offers specialty sundaes, including The Zoo, delivered by two servers and made with 30 scoops of chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream, with strawberry, chocolate, and marshmallow topping, topped with bananas, sprinkles, whipped cream, a cherry and a menagerie of animals.

Sweet Pete’s sells a large selection of candies, cupcakes and other sweet offerings and offers candy-making classes.

Farrell’s won’t be the only ice cream game in town when it opens at The Battery — national chain Haagen-Dazs opened an outpost earlier this year.
