If Tamarind Seed in Midtown’s Colony Square complex is your go-to for Thai food, you might want to look elsewhere, at least for a couple of years.
The restaurant will temporarily close its doors at 1197 Peachtree St. NE while Colony Square goes through renovations, Atlanta Magazine reports. The timing coincides with the opening this fall of Chai Yo, a concept from DeeDee Niyomkul and her family, who also own Nan Fine Dining and Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft in addition to Tamarind Seed.
Chai Yo, will open in the Two Buckhead Plaza development at 3050 Peachtree Road NW, taking the space of the now-shuttered J. Christopher’s. The development also includes King + Duke and Seasons 52.
The menu will include shared plates of Thai classics and Thai dishes with a twist, as well as a craft cocktail program.
