Dish of the week: C&S Blackened Tuna Salad from C&S Chowder House
Red curry and tuna isn’t an expected pairing, but it’s a surprisingly effective one when it comes in the form of the C&S Blackened Tuna Salad at C&S Chowder House in Roswell.
Slightly sweet and just a bit spicy, the salad features seared tuna with a blackened rub of spices and served atop an Asian coleslaw of sorts—crisp shreds and strings of cabbage, carrots, apples, radish, seaweed, radicchio and red onion lend a satisfying crunch and heartiness that play well with the texture of the tender tuna. A red curry vinaigrette and soy mustard reduction meld together into a sweet-sour sauce dressing, while a sprinkling of fresh cilantro gives a bright touch to each bite.
If the blackened tuna salad isn’t enough to satisfy your appetite, add a creamy cup of classic New England clam chowder or sample one of the raw bar offerings. The restaurant also recently debuted a lunch menu featuring items like fish tacos, a tuna poke bowl and char-grilled oysters.
