The tasting tent experience at the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival
At the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival, the tasting tents allow guests to eat, drink and indulge in culinary creations from the region’s top chefs. Some local flavors from Atlanta that will be on display include Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, Honeysuckle Gelato, Farm Burger, Orpheus Brewing, Revolution Doughnuts & Coffee and High Road Craft Ice Cream.
The tents will be spread out in the Greensward area of Piedmont Park.

Learn how to create homemade bread and butter
Lyn Deardorff and her husband created the Learning Kitchen to bring back the art of creating everything from fresh baguettes to pickles. At the Bread and Butter Class, Deardorff will teach students how to make bread and butter 100 percent from scratch. Students will come away with recipes for bread and butter as well as the bread and jar of butter they create in the class. Purchase tickets for this class at the website.

Dine al fresco at Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails
The Garden Dinner series at Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails continues in June with a menu that is “straight from the vine.” The four-course meal with wine pairings is created with produce from Milton’s Acre, the restaurant’s 1-acre garden. On June 4, guests can dine on everything from Caper Brined Grilled Artichoke, Lobster & Crab Salad, to Smoked Bacon Confit Rabbit Leg and Grilled Glazed Doughnuts. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
“Chef+ Farmers = Better Together” is the theme of this year’s Slow Food Atlanta’s 11th annual Ice Cream Social. Using fresh ingredients from local farmers, markets and purveyors, contestants will create 2 gallons of homemade ice cream.
Attendees will get to taste the homespun ice cream and then vote for the best homemade old-fashioned ice cream. The award for tastiest produce ice cream is also up for grabs at this event.

The Omakase Experience
At Doraku Sushi, the flavors of traditional Japanese dishes blend with Asian and Latin flavors. For the 20-piece Omakase sushi experience, chef Todd Kulper will select 20 pieces of nigiri sushi for each diner to taste. The flavors will include exotic Japanese fish, such as shimesaba (marinated mackerel) and uni (sea urchin). Chef Todd will give an explanation of each piece of sushi that is being sampled. The Omakase 20-piece experience is available Thursdays through Saturdays until June 30. Reservations are required and tickets are available at the website.
