Atlanta’s chefs are joining together to support one of their own.

Jason Fisherthe longtime sous chef at Ford Fry’s no. 246 in Decatur, will begin his second battle in the past two years with a rare form of cancer. To help benefit both Fisher and the Giving Kitchen — the non-profit arm of Staplehouse restaurant, which provides assistance to those in need in the hospitality industry — no. 246 is holding a fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, March 26.

Chefs including Anne Quatrano of Bacchanalia, Nick Melvin of Venkman’s and Hector Santiago of El Super Pan will contribute to the pot-luck style, backyard event featuring cold beer and drinks from Terrapin and Heaven Hill Distilleries, ping pong and a band in the courtyard.

Miles MacQuarrie, Bryan Rackley, Matt Christison and Jesse Smith of Kimball House are donating a portion of proceeds from their own event earlier that day called Eat the Wild, a garden barbecue paired with Three Taverns beer and Kimball cocktails, in addition to participating in the No. 246 event.

Entry to the no. 246 fundraiser is free and open to the public, and donations (suggested $40 per person) can be made at gofundme.com/jasonfisher.
