A second restaurant is now open at the Hosea + 2nd development in East Lake.
Poor Hendrix has opened its doors, nearly five months after Greater Good BBQ made its debut at the complex.
The restaurant is helmed by James Beard-nominated pastry chef Aaron Russell and his wife Jamie Russell. Russell’s pastry chef resume includes stints at Nikolai’s Roof, the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, the Chocolate Bar and Restaurant Eugene.
Poor Hendrix (named after the Russell’s rescue dog), “will focus on serving simple, perfectly prepared classic dishes that compliment an affordable, but thoughtful wine list,” according to a release. “The bar will feature small plates of salty, spicy, and savory comfort food engineered to go best with drinking in a pub atmosphere.”
In addition to Poor Hendrix and Greater Good, One Eared Stag chef and owner Robert Phalen has plans to open Mary Hoopa’s House of Fried Chicken & Oysters in January 2017 at 2nd + Hosea.
Also, Mike Nelson and Clay Harper, owners of Fellini’s Pizza and La Fonda Latina, and their development partners, Jay Martin and Nathan Bolster of ReDevStudio, closed on the acquisition of a third corner of the development.
