A sweet treat mainstay in Decatur for the past seven years is closing its doors at the end of the weekend.
The Yogurt Tap, located at 419 Church St., will cease operations after Sunday.
The owners, couple Stanford and Lindsey Phillips, addressed the closure in a note on the spot’s Facebook page:
It is with mixed emotions that we let you know that we are closing The Yogurt Tap on November 6th. The Yogurt Tap has been a major part of our lives for the last eight years and we hope a contributor to the vibrant life of Decatur. When we opened our doors in August of 2009, we could have never imagined the support we would get from our community and amazing team members! Thank you.
Over these last eight years we also have been blessed with five wonderful children who have grown up with The Yogurt Tap. If you’re a regular, there’s a good chance you’ve seen them “cleaning” the shop, coloring on windows, eating samples and sneaking gummy bears. At this stage in our lives, our priorities for our time have changed. Although we will deeply miss The Yogurt Tap, we are looking forward to focusing more attention on our children.
It has always been our goal to provide a great experience for everyone who visits The Yogurt Tap. We will miss serving you, coming up with fun flavors and seeing families and friends enjoying good times. We thank you for welcoming us when we opened our doors and we thank you for your continued support. Over the next few weeks, we hope that you will come in and celebrate with us.
From our family to yours, thank you for being part of The Yogurt Tap’s story!
