A slice of the bayou is celebrating its grand opening in Alpharetta this weekend.
Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou has been in soft open mode since the beginning of August at 52B N. Main St. and will have a grand opening celebration starting at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 featuring live jazz music, $2 smoked oysters and a live baby alligator for photo opportunities. The restaurant’s full menu, which features creole classics including shrimp andouille, blackened redfish, po’ boys and a variety of other sandwiches, salads, starters and entrees as well as a full bar, will be served from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
Flatlands is owned and operated by husband and wife Jodi and Vinny Chieco, who also own Brick House Pizza and Pasta in Roswell. Chef Francois Duquette worked under a Cajun chef in a South Florida restaurant and has spent considerable time in New Orleans.
The restaurant, which is open for lunch and dinner, seats about 80 people inside, with an extra 25 on the patio and about eight at the bar.
