Stock Up: 3 food products to put on your shopping list
This week, we’re buzzing over a local coffee, stealing bites of a new snack created for kids and upping our grill game with tasty, time-saving condiment. Here are the three products we’re stocking up on right now.
Octane Coffee Co. White Lightening
We’re settling our morning caffeine fix with White Lightening from local coffee roaster Octane. While the blend changes with each new crop of coffee cherries (currently the beans are an equal mix of Ethiopia Aricha and Guatemala Santa Isabel, you can count on bright fruitiness and a bit of zing from each every cup of espresso. $14.99 per 12-ounce whole bean pre-pack, available at all Octane Coffee locations, octanecoffee.com.
McCormick Grill Mates single-use marinades
If half-used bottles of marinades seem to die a slow death in the door of your fridge, it might be time to try single-use liquid marinates. The trusted name in herbs and seasoning blends recently launched a line of single-use liquid marinade packets that are full of flavor and a time-saver when we’re not in the mood to mix up our own. Of the three varieties – Montreal steak, brown sugar bourbon and seven-spice teriyaki, the latter is our favorite. $1.79 per 5-ounce packet, available at area Kroger and Publix locations, mccormick.com.
Curate Kids Apple & Cinnamon Bar
Nutrient bar company Curate recently brought a line of kid-friendly flavors to the snack aisle. OK, so we’re not five years old any more, but we’re quite content chomping on the apple and cinnamon variety we initially bought for Junior. Crunchy cashews and super-grain quinoa – the fact that it’s healthy is just a bonus. $4.49 per five-bar box, available at area Target stores, curatesnacks.com.
