Where to eat, drink and celebrate 4th of July in Atlanta

Kick off your Independence Day weekend with festive food events and great views of the Peachtree Road Race. All of the following five restaurants—a smattering of what’s available throughout metro Atlanta—will offer dining deals on Monday, July 4 unless noted otherwise.

Tavernpointe: Start the day with a patio party featuring a $15 brunch buffet, $1 street tacos (free for runners with a number), music and more from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. The brunch menu will include southern brunch faves such as grits and buttermilk fried chicken.

Cook Hall Atlanta: Start the morning watching the Peachtree Road Race, $5 bloody Marys and mimosas and music. Post race, Cook Hall Atlanta will offer regular lunch then switch over to an all-American menu complemented by boozy slushies and a bevy of holiday specials. For a festive night, listen to a live set by Jacob Deaton and Friends beginning at 7:00 p.m. or hang tight and watch the fireworks at night.

Biltong Bar: This South African food hall will celebrate America’s independence with the Rock Flag Eagle, a cocktail comprised of 1776 rye whiskey, Thomas Tew Rum, Laird’s Applejack, madeira, lime acid orange, cinnamon and bitters. The specialty drink will be available July 2-4 for $10.

Meehan’s Public House – Buckhead: Enjoy beer specials, $10 plates of barbecue, raffles and more beginning at 3 p.m. If you’re hungry to help, just eat. From 3-6 p.m., 10-percent of all proceeds will be donated to BlazeSports America, an organization that advances the equality, visibility and human rights of people with physical disabilities through sport.

Polaris: Celebrate Independence Day with a prix fixe menu featuring red, white and blue sangria, great American steak Oscar slider, brandy rabbit boudin sausage dog, a surprise dessert and more for $45. This rotating restaurant is located 22 stories above ground, so guests will be able to see fireworks from Turner Field, Lenox and Stone Mountain.
