In December, local celebrity chef Jim Stacy announced he was trying to sell Pallookaville Fine Foods, his corn dog restaurant in downtown Avondale Estates.
Less than three months later, Stacy has a buyer for his two-year-old business. James Maggard and Jason Hylton, who own Matador Cantina in Oakhurst and The Local No. 7 and M572 in Tucker are the new owners, according to Decaturish. The pair now also own Pallookaville Jr. the takeout location currently under construction in Little Five Points.
Stacy, who will stay on board as an employee, said in December that selling Pallookville was always in the cards.
“Everything’s always for sale,” Stacy said. “This was in our business plan from day one. I’m always moving forward, and we’ll see what kind of offers we get on it. I’ve had a varied career, and it isn’t varied because I didn’t not look for opportunities.”
Stacy will also continue to keep busy with several TV and movie projects in the works, along with other restaurant concepts. He’s also working on a children’s book and a novel.
Pallookaville closed in February for maintenance, but plans to reopen in March.
