These couples cook up something to love at their Atlanta restaurants

If it’s true that the couple that cooks together stays together, then these culinary pairs are solid as can be — they spend their days together in the kitchen, running their restaurants or getting their food-related businesses off the ground.

Fuyuhiko and Lisa Ito: Himitsu, UmiThe couple met at now-shuttered sushi restaurant MF Buckhead, where Fuyuhiko served as sushi chef and List served as pastry chef. Now the pair are doing the same jobs at their own spots.

Michele and Christopher Sedgwick: Bistro VG, Vinny’s on Windward, Aspen’s Signature Steaks, Theo’s Brother’s Bakery — The couple has had entries in the North Fulton dining scene since the mid-’90s, and now oversee Sedgwick Restaurant Group. They also co-founded Pure Taqueria.

They were friends for years before starting to date, and got engaged after two months.

Nancy and Federico Castellucci: SugoFederico met his wife, Nancy, when she applied for a bartending position — at 19 years old — at his first restaurant. The 26-year-old hired her for a  part-time position. Seven years later, they were married and have been business partners ever since. In addition to owning Sugo, they’re parents to Fred, Stephanie and John Castellucci, who own and operate Cooks & Soldiers and The Iberian Pig and are involved at Sugo.
