The Peachtree Road Farmers Market is the largest producer-only market in metro Atlanta. It’s the reason why numerous home cooks and chefs alike flock to the outdoor market at 2744 Peachtree Road in Buckhead each Saturday from April to December. Now, market-goers can get ready for double the pleasure because the 2016 market season will see an additional market day each week.
Beginning April 13, the market will add Wednesday evening hours, operating from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., with vendors selling everything from produce to bread to farm-fresh eggs. Saturday market days begin April 2, running from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Similar to the market’s Saturday highlights, on Wednesday evenings Atlantans will be able to stock up on certified naturally grown or certified organic produce and meats, all grown and raised in Georgia, as well as purchase food to-go or to enjoy onsite at outdoor picnic tables.
Weekly restaurant pop-ups will feature fare from chefs like Nick Leahy of Saltyard; Jarrett Stieber of Eat Me Speak Me; Kevin Gillespie of Gunshow and Revival; Hector Santiago of El Super Pan; Nick Melvin of Venkman’s; and Terry Koval of Wrecking Bar Brewery. There will also be prepared food from the market’s regular vendors, like Flora & Flour, The Spotted Trotter, Pine Street Market, S&J’s Woodfired Pizza and King of Pops.
The Wednesday market will also bring tastings from local craft breweries such as Second Self Beer Co.; Monday Night Brewing; Orpheus Brewing and Wrecking Bar Brewpub.
